Sorry this is not a help, but a commisuration. In Linux, the various 'desktops' could also have multi tabs open to quickly move from one to another in the same app. (sometimes I had 15 or more tabs open at once when I was busy comparing and analyzing.)Īpple also told me to use the desktop feature (expose/spaces) but as a former Ubuntu Linux user familiar with this functionality, it is not the same. It was so easy with the tabs for ALL of my open apps at the bottom of my screen. Right now I feel like I have to constantly minimize the window I am in, locate the other document (same program) and then open that, and then paste it. In the app switcher, youre already holding Cmd, so hit Esc or period(.) Managing Windows & Dialogs. This was useful for me as I often cut and paste items quickly from one document to another while compiling my research papers. Speaking of my own needs, In Windows, you can have a tab at the bottom (or top) with all of your apps open and even versions of each. Command-C : Copy the selected item to the Clipboard. Command-X : Cut the selected item and copy it to the Clipboard. I am a new Mac user (less than one week) and I phoned today to ask about this. Cut, copy, paste, and other common shortcuts.
